When to request it?
Es muy importante que cualquier mujer o pareja que esté pensando en comenzar su vida sexual o que ya la haya comenzado y no desee un embarazo, implemente un método periódico de planificación familiar para evitar un embarazo no deseado. Para tener acceso al implante, es necesario acudir a una consulta de anticoncepción donde se brinda toda la información necesaria para poder tomar la decisión. Posteriormente, un profesional de la salud debe realizar la inserción mediante un procedimiento sencillo, ambulatorio y de corta duración.

For individuals under 14 years old, the insurer must report presumed sexual abuse in minors and still provide access to the method.

Keep in mind:
- The subdermal implant does not necessarily cause weight gain; however, it’s important to maintain a healthy diet to avoid changes in body weight.
- The subdermal implant does not move or shift from the insertion site.
- The subdermal implant does not cause infertility — fertility returns immediately after removal.
