Frequently Asked Questions About Gynecology
What causes menstrual odor?
Menstruation has a characteristic smell that should not be unpleasant. If hygiene is poor, if a sanitary pad is left on for too long, or if there is a vaginal or uterine infection, the odor may become unpleasant — in such cases, it is recommended to see a doctor.
How can sexual dysfunctions in women be treated?
Female sexual dysfunctions can have physical, psychological, or relationship-related causes. The gynecologist is responsible for ruling out problems related to the woman’s genital organs or hormones when she seeks help for a sexual issue. Meanwhile, the sexologist provides comprehensive treatment that addresses all the factors that may have contributed to the sexual problem reported by the woman.
What is a gynecology consultation for?
It helps prevent and detect possible diseases of the female reproductive and sexual organs. It also focuses on monitoring and caring for women during pregnancy and childbirth.
